“Atlantis is an island located in the Atlantic Ocean, and its story was recounted by the Greek philosopher Plato around 350 BC. He described the founders of Atlantis as beings who were part god and part human. They established a prosperous and utopian civilization, along with a formidable naval power, around 2500 BC. Plato claimed that the island was ultimately destroyed by a volcanic eruption, which was followed by a massive tidal wave.
My artwork depicts the inhabitants of the island before this catastrophic event, illustrating their departure and escape.“
