Shoshanna Ahart is an outdoor painter whose beautifully crafted pastels capture the beauty of life’s fleeting moments. “Late Afternoon in the Shadow Garden” was created on-site in the shadow garden of the private castle Grünau near Neuburg an der Donau. Ahart works in four-hour sessions, returning to the same location at the same time over several days to capture a specific light and atmosphere. She employs soft pastel colors on heavy, coarse-textured pastel paper, layering them in numerous individual applications. This technique enables Ahart to produce particularly vibrant effects of color and light.
