I am interested in inner attitudes or gestures, their external impact, and their effect on the body – a tendency, a turning away, a way of concealing or revealing oneself… I often reduce the gesture to the point where only the physical core necessary for expression remains, or a material surface that reminds of it. In this way, they speak a more direct language than usual, their message condenses into an essence, and for a brief moment, I experience life again as fresh and new. Anette Bley
