Let’s take a look into room Lenbach, named to honor Franz von Lenbach, the legendary „Malerfürst“. He once was President of the MKG and in charge of constructing the Munich Künstlerhaus together with Ferdinand von Miller. Lenbach was well-known as portaitist of famous personalities such as Otto von Bismarck, both German Emperors Wilhem I and Wilhem II, the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph and Pope Leo XIII. In Germany and Austria he was one the most famous painters of his time.

During the in-person exhibition in the Künstlerhaus, all of the works in the Room Lenbach will be added step by step as videos and photos – so anyone who didn’t make it to the Künstlerhaus will be able to stroll through the rooms here until May 25th.
